St. John's Church is part of the Diocese of Virginia, which was founded in 1785 as one of the original nine Anglican dioceses in the United States. Under the leadership of the Rt. Rev. Shannon Sherwood Johnston, thirteenth Bishop of Virginia, and Bishop Suffragan, Rt. Rev. Susan Goff, this, the largest of Episcopal Dioceses, actively and faithfully engages in the parish lives of over 180 individual congregations and in mission work throughout the world.
