Outreach
This Advent
Help the Church of the Epiphany
End Diaper Insecurity
in Greater Richmond
What’s Needed:
Baby Diapers (all sizes, especially sizes 4-6)
Baby wipes
When to Donate: through January 4
How to Donate: Drop off your donations in the designated bins in the Parish Hall OR contact Victoria Hauser about having an online order delivered.
In 2018, when the Church of the Epiphany recognized a pressing need for diapers throughout Greater Richmond, they began a monthly distribution of more than 125 packages of diapers, and the number keeps growing.
Nationally, 1 in 2 families struggle to afford diapers. Epiphany is committed to helping families in our community overcome this challenge, ensuring babies have the chance to grow up happy, healthy, and safe.
St. John's will support the Church of the Epiphany's mission throughout the season of Advent.
Keep up the Good Work on Your Reverse Advent Calendars
Continue to add a requested nonperishable item each day during Advent through December 24. We will donate our boxes to the Peter Paul/St. Peter's Food Bank after Christmas Day. (Requested items: peanut butter, jelly, ramen noodles, canned vegetables, instant oatmeal packets, and granola bars).
Thanks for giving the gift of helping others.
First Fruits
Now, More than Ever
With the disruption to SNAP benefits due to the federal government shut down, the Peter Paul RVA/St. Peter's food bank really needs our help. Instead of monthly contributions, we ask that you make weekly contributions.
Items needed: peanut butter, jelly, ramen noodles, canned vegetables, instant oatmeal packets, and granola bars*.
*ONLY supply these specific items, please.
You may leave your donations at the back of the church or in the Parish Hall (look for designated collection boxes).
If you are interested in providing hands-on help, Peter Paul’s well-oiled food pantry machine could use volunteers to:
order online from Feed More and coordinate food pickup with Kroger
pick up food at Feed More and Kroger
help clients fill out Feed More applications
add clients' names to the online Feed More system
To learn more about volunteering please contact Chimere Miles.
Thanks for your continued support of our outreach ministries.
Other Outreach Opportunities
