Donate Halloween Costumes for Richmond Kids
REAL LIFE, an East End nonprofit organization supported by the St. John's Outreach Ministry, is collecting new or gently used Halloween costumes and accessories through its Project SAF (Safe, Alive, and Free). They will distribute costumes to children living in the high-poverty, high-violence neighborhoods served by Project SAF.
Costumes must be clean and in good condition.
Please avoid overly scary or violent themes.
Do not donate toy weapons.
Make sure costumes are age-appropriate by size.
Bring your donations to the decorated box in the Parish Hall by September 30. Email Liz Broda with questions or to arrange costume pickup.Tuesday, August 19
First Fruits Reimagined
We are pleased to report that we are now partnering with St. Peter’s and Peter Paul RVA’s food pantry.
On the first Sunday of each month, we will collect the following donations: peanut butter, jelly, ramen noodles, canned vegetables, instant oatmeal packets, and granola bars*.
*ONLY supply these specific items, please.
These donations will help fill the twice-monthly food bags that St. Peter's and Peter Paul RVA distribute to 60-70 households. You may leave your donations at the back of the church or in the Parish Hall (look for designated collection boxes).
Next Collections: Sunday, October 5
If you are interested in providing hands-on help, Peter Paul’s well-oiled food pantry machine could use volunteers to:
order online from Feed More and coordinate food pickup with Kroger
pick up food at Feed More and Kroger
help clients fill out Feed More applications
add clients' names to the online Feed More system
To learn more about volunteering please contact Chimere Miles.
We’re excited to resume food collections that will greatly benefit our East End community. Thanks for your continued support of our outreach ministries.
Other Outreach Opportunities
